- Our class has been working on a unit about animal habitats. We are finishing this unit this week as part of our writing lessons. We are creating a book about one of the animal habitats we have researched in class.
- We are also starting our second Reading Street unit, which focuses on communities. We will be learning about different community helpers such as crossing guards, bus drivers, police officers, etc. While reading, we are discussing main idea.
- We have a regular homework packet again this week, now that we are returning to our Reading Street routine.
- Our phonics skill of the week focuses on the th, and sh blends.
- Our math lessons for the week will continue focusing on adding and subtracting. The next unit, which begins next week will focus on measurement. We will be using the words longer, shorter, and taller as we begin comparing objects.
- We will be talking about Thanksgiving and our own family traditions as we prepare for the holiday next week.
- Donations of household cleaning wipes (Lysol, Clorox, etc.) are always appreciated. We clean our desk surfaces daily to try to prevent illness.
