We have learned many new things this week! We have continued discussing and reading about communities. We have read about community workers within a city. We wrote about our neighborhood communities, and sang about our classroom community.
During writing, we are working on identifying complete sentences. We are also working to add details to our sentences to help the reader make a picture of the sentences in their minds.
During math, we continue working on solving addition and subtraction problems. We also spent some time talking about shapes and their attributes, such as size, color, and number of sides and corners. We had fun using pattern blocks during this lesson and even had time to create some neat designs!

Can you believe this mild weather? Neither can we! The children have been asking why it hasn't snowed yet. We talked about the temperature outside and how it is usually about 13 degrees colder than today. They really wanted to make snowmen... so we did! What would happen to a snowman in 55 degree temperatures like we have today? They would melt of course! Your children have their "melted" snowpeople in their backpacks. Be sure to take them out!
