The children have many papers in their homework folders today.
*You will find a note about collecting Box Tops for our school. We earn 10 cents for every box top we collect. The children can use these to practice counting by tens as you cut them to send in to us.
*Also sent home today was the information about picture day, which will be on Friday, October 16th. Please send the envelope back to school on picture day.
*Your child has a copy of our behavior clip chart, which should be colored in to show where his/her clip was at the end of our day. There is a note attached to the chart, explaining how we will use it. Please send the chart to school every day.
*Our first homework packet went home today. Stapled to the front is a yellow sheet for you to remove and keep at home. It explains the different parts of the homework packet. If you have any questions about the homework, please contact me. Students need to return the completed packet on Friday.
This week, we are reading Big Blue Ox. We are focusing on learning to read and spell words with short o, like in top and pop. We continue working on counting and adding strategies. We will be learning the math game Roll and Total tomorrow (Tuesday).
Reminder: Friday is a half day. School doors will open at 8:30. Dismissal is at 12:30 so staff can attend professional development workshops.
Friday is also crazy hair day. A note will be sent home tomorrow.
