Welcome back following our very long weekend. Our class was very excited to be back at school to celebrate our 100th day as first graders! They were a fantastic looking group of “100 year-olds”.
I am hoping to send home the 100th day projects tomorrow. There are a few projects that are large and would be difficult to transport home on the bus. Please let me know how you would like to arrange to get your child’s project if he/she can’t carry it home.
Our story of the week is Ruby in her Own Time. There is a homework packet (due Friday), but due to the short week, I am not having the children use our daily “clip chart” paper. We will continue to use the chart in class to help the children monitor how their day is going.
Please remember that Friday is a half day of school, which means that the doors of Willett open at 8:30. Dismissal is promptly at 12:30 to allow the Willett staff time to get to their afternoon workshops.
Don’t forget that our PTO Read-a-thon continues throughout next week’s vacation. The more money we raise, the more IPads the PTO can plan to buy for our students to use in the classrooms. This is more than a great fundraiser, it is also a wonderful chance to enjoy some quality time reading with your children.
